I am posting some info up about my 1980 Mercedes 407d to try and find out information, and other people who are interested in these vehicles. I purchased it to do a camper conversion, but I find myself hesitating because of the rarity and condition of this vehicle. It has just under 28,000 km and is totally original, and rust free. I have been looking at sprinter vans ever since they came to the states, and I am thinking that it is a more practical vehicle for my needs. I look forward to hearing from anyone who is interested in my truck, or who has information about these vans as they are almost nonexistent in the US. Especially in this condition. The vehicle is located in Maine, and I use it frequently. Everything works as it should, except the european siren. I believe it was disabled. Is this considered as being in the Unimog class of vehicles? Some people I have talked to believe it is.
